Virtual assistants have been around for quite some time now, yet there are still several myths surrounding them, as some people haven't heard of the term virtual assistant (VA for short)before.
Sometimes, these myths can prevent businesses from taking advantage of the benefits of hiring a virtual assistant.
We are now going to debunk some of the most common virtual assistant myths out there:
Myth 1: Virtual Assistants are Expensive
One of the most common misconceptions about virtual assistants is that they are expensive.
However, this is not necessarily true. Virtual assistants are often more affordable than hiring an in-house employee, as they work remotely, don't have to pay any benefits to them, and they don't need any office space or equipment.
Additionally, many virtual assistants work on an hourly or project basis, which can be more cost-effective than hiring a full-time employee.
Myth 2: Virtual Assistants are Only for Administrative Tasks
Another common myth is that virtual assistants are only capable of handling administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering emails, and making phone calls.
However, virtual assistants can perform a wide variety of tasks, including:
Social media management
Content creation
Customer service
bookkeeping
Booking travel accommodations
Copywriting/proofreading
Email management
Marketing
and more.
Myth 3: Virtual Assistants are Not Reliable
Some people believe that virtual assistants are not as reliable as in-house employees.
However, this is not true.
Virtual assistants are professionals who are committed to their work and take their responsibilities seriously. To them this is their business so they want to provide a high quality service and want to keep the business.
Also, they aren't subject to distractions in the office and can focus solely on their work more easily.
Myth 4: Virtual Assistants are Difficult to Work With
A common myth is that virtual assistants are difficult to work with.
However, this is not the case. Virtual assistants are trained professionals who are experienced in working remotely. They are equipped with the tools and technology needed to communicate effectively with their clients and are committed to providing quality work.
I'm not sure where this myth came from, but from all the virtual assistants I have meet, they're always professional when it comes to working with clients.
Myth 5: Virtual Assistants Only Work Remotely
Virtual assistants only working remotely.
Some virtual assistants are actually open to working on-site, especially for short-term projects or specific tasks that require physical presence. This flexibility allows businesses to adapt to their unique needs and preferences.
Over the last few years, virtual assistants have proven to be invaluable resources, debunking the myths that may have once deterred potential employers.
